NKollectiv is proud to present the 3rd annual Apis Opus, a celebration of wax media!
This is a juried show of work derived from beeswax-based media, alone or combined with other materials. The name of the show comes from the Latin name for the genus of bees - Apis, and Opus - a work of art. The first two events were focused solely on encaustic work by local Colorado artists. For 2025, all U.S. artists working in any beeswax-based media such as encaustic or cold-wax medium were invited to apply.
Sixty-five pieces were selected from 138 entries from 42 artists in Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, New York, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Seven NKollectiv member artists who work in wax media are also included in the show: Kelly Austin-Rolo, Mary Lynn Baird, Melody Epperson, Victoria Eubanks, Nicole Korbe, Julia Martin, and Michele Messenger.
