“Recipes for Life”

"Recipes for Life" is a collaborative exhibition presented by Studio Vwazen 2024 Fellowship. It is a collaborative exploration by multiple artists, delving into the essence of existence itself. This series reflects on themes of nostalgia and sacred geometry, probing deep into the various facets of human life and our universal experiences.

As part of the collaboration I created a series of encaustic paintings. Each piece in this collection captures the essence of herbs, teas, and coffee, weaving in the sacred geometry of the flower of life to symbolize interconnectedness and harmony. Through rich textures and delicate details, I invite you to explore the profound relationship between nature's gifts and the moments of reflection they inspire in life.

This Collection will be on exhibition from November 1 - December 16, 2024

Sip Slowly

“Sip Slowly” is a series that centers on capturing the state of memories, emotions, and states of being human, all in a cup. Each painting featuresand a unique mug that represents an individual. Against each mug's background is a small verse that begins with "sips slowly," capturing the essence and story of the person it symbolizes. The flower of life appears in each painting, underscoring the theme of reflection and interconnectedness. The series invites viewers to ponder the simple yet profound act of sipping coffee and reflecting on life’s journeys.

I’m inviting YOU to be a part of my Sip Slowly series! If you have a favorite or meaningful mug, I’d love to hear the story behind it. You can either send me an image of your mug and share a bit about what it means to you and/or about yourself. If you're in Fort Wayne, I’d love to meet up for coffee or tea sometime and hear your story in person! ☕️💙
